What is the treatment for Chlamydia?
Antibiotics are the most effective treatment and cure for Chlamydia. Azithromycin (Zithromax) and Doxycycline (Atridox, Bio-Tab) are the most commonly used antibiotics. Research has shown that 80-90% of people with chlamydia are cured after taking these antibiotics.
All sex partners of an infected person should be tested and treated. People with chlamydia should abstain from sexual activity until they and their sex partners have finish treatment. There are safe antibiotics to treat chlamydia during pregnancy
Other antibiotics: a moxicillin, ampicillin, clarithromycin, lymecycline, minocycline, ofloxacin, pivampicillin and rifampicin.
The most common side effects of antibiotics include:

Azithromycin 1 g orally in a single dose
Doxycycline100 mg orally twice a day for 7 days

Erythromycin ethylsuccinate 800 mg orally 4 times a day for 7 days
Ofloxacin 300 mg orally 2 times a day for 7 days

Azithromycin is considered to be both safe and effective.
